Free haircut to homeless in New York by a Fil-Am

A Filipino – American in New York City is giving a free haircut every Sunday at New York City Streets. Mark Bustos, 30, works at a high-end hair studio in Manhattan’s posh Chelsea neighborhood that costs at least $125 every haircut. But every Sunday, and he never misses a Sunday, Mark walks into the streets of New York City to give free haircut.

“I continue to do it because it makes me feel good and I won’t stop doing it until it stops making me feel good, which I don’t see that happening,” Bustos said.

Not just simply giving free haircut to anyone, but he offers his free haircut services to homeless persons in the streets of New York.

Mark was first inspired in Pampangga, in his family’s hometown in the Philippines during their visit while he was 12.

“I was able to appreciate life much more after that trip,” Bustos said.
In 2013, Mark Bustos returned to his hometown, Pampangga, to serve and assist back.

Bustos found a homeless 23-year-old named Zack around Union Square. After the haircut, he told Bustos that he felt great, not just physically but emotionally.

Mark Bustos serves as many as eight homeless people every Sunday in New York for giving his free haircut services, and still counting.

As Mark Bustos continues his good deeds to homeless people, let's support him in his #BeAwesometoSomebody movement.
